As part of planning your holiday to this beautiful Canary Island, remember to apply for your European Health Insurance Card that will entitle you to free or discounted health care in the circumstance that you fall ill during your time abroad.
Timanfaya National Park
With rich red, brown and orange colours, Timanfaya may look like a post-apocalyptic wasteland due the centuries of volcanic activity that have occurred there. The panoramic views of the entire coastline from the top are simply awe-inspiring. There are a number of coach tours that will take you up with some of them stopping off at the Rubicon vineyard along the way with the chance to sample some local wines. The volcano is currently dormant but gives off enough heat to cook a delicious barbecue of burgers, sausages, chicken and Canarian potatoes.
Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park
Only in your wildest dreams could you imagine an attraction quite like the Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park. A great day out for all the family includes a number of exotic animals to see including a sea lion show, parrot show and wild birds show. Afterwards you can cool off in the water park section with a large pool area and a number of slides and chutes.
