When travelling around Europe there are plenty of amusement parks that you can visit with your family to add an additional element of thrill and excitement to your jam-packed trip. #1 Efteling – The Netherlands

Originally designed around the year of 1933, this theme park is home to some of the world’s most unique rides. With designers in-house creating an abundance of awesome rides, you can have hours of amazing fun here on rides that are sure to capture your imagination.

In 2017, the park celebrated its 65th anniversary making it one of the longest running in Europe. During this year they also saw the opening of the biggest attraction in the park, Symbolica, which contributed to surpassing 5 million visitors into Efteling, a truly magical destination in the Netherlands.

#2 Alton Towers – UK

 Located in Alton in the UK, this first begun as a tourist attraction in 1924. During this time, a railway station was being built and the money from this was given to the Earl to maintain the operation of the grounds and upkeep the country estate that later became a small amusement park. By the 1970s the towers played host to a large number of visitors and included a chairlift and a boating lake.

After changing hands and gaining a large amount of funding, Alton Towers begun to feature a succession of roller coasters in the 1980s and officially opened its doors as a fully operational theme park on April 4th 1980. Since then there have been a number of attractions that have opened within the park, with one of the most recent being Cbeebies Land which opened in July 2017.

#3 PortAventura – Spain
