When visiting Europe there is an abundance of choice for amazing views and landmarks for you to visit that are well-known for being the backdrops and locations where many popular movies have been filmed. Here we are going to look at some of the best European locations that have been in some of the best Films and TV shows in recent years, so you can add them to your bucket list of places to visit in Europe.

Mamma Mia! Skiathos, Greece

Located within the beautiful country of Greece, the island of Skiathos is the setting for the extremely famous film Mamma Mia! This jam-packed musical filled with all your favourite Abba songs showcases the island it in all its glory.

One of the biggest TV series in the world right now, Game Of Thrones, is also filmed in Europe. From the pages of the renowned books to your screens at home, the series of Game Of Thrones has unravelled before our very eyes, creating suspense as well as a multitude of nail-biting moments.

A large portion of the show is filmed in Dubrovnik in Croatia and with lots of tours of the area becoming readily available since the sudden burst of popularity from the series, you can explore the world of all your favourite characters whilst soaking up the sun.

Arguably one of the biggest film franchises of all time, there are a number of locations all around the UK that feature heavily across the 8 films. Although most of the franchise was filmed within Leavesden Studios, there were also a number of scenes that were brought to life far from central London.

Famous UK landmarks such as the Palace of Westminister and the Millennium Bridge feature in the films, as well as others such as Kings Cross Station and Glenfinnan Viaduct in Scotland.
